The
RC Lima Sunrise is the only English speaking Rotary Club in Spanish
speaking South America and the only breakfast club in Perú. We have
members of different countries with different language capacities, we
meet punctually and also terminate exactly at 8.30 am.
As a very internationally oriented club, there exist multiple contacts
to clubs and organizations in many parts of the world. Miraflores is
the part of Lima where most tourists and foreigners use to come, for
visits and work, to take off or come back from tours through the
country. Therefore it is also an ideal place to visit a Rotary Club and
meet friends.
Our club realizes several activities, typical for a Rotary Club and
also focused on needs of the country we live in: Speeches of general
interest, from invited persons and representatives of organizations.
Within the community services, our club focuses on different
activities, some of the projects are described in the chapter
"Projects". We mainly concentrate on water filters and health in
general, and on the construction of a medical center in the town of
Pisco. This city 250 km to the south of Lima was severely destroyed in
the earthquake of August 15th, 2007 and still lacks of adecuate medical
attendance. We also implement this medical center and supervice the
organization that will run it.
